Dear Parents and Carers,
What a lovely week we have had at St. James! The sun has been shining and there are signs of Spring appearing all around us.
This week featured one of our favorite days of the year, as pupils and staff alike donned their finest costumes to celebrate the magic of books. The children looked truly amazing, and the atmosphere across the school was absolutely buzzing. Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of book related activities, including a very popular "Masked Reader" competition, and thoroughly enjoyed their workshops with our visiting author, Tola Okogwu.
I would also like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who visited the Book Fair. It is always a well-attended event, and your support helps us raise vital funds to refresh our school library and resources. Finally, my sincere thanks go to Mrs. Dodd and Miss Boyle for their hard work and dedication in organising such a memorable World Book Day for everyone.
Looking ahead to next week, we have our open afternoon on Friday 13th March where parents and carers can come and see their children's books ahead of parent/carer consultations the week after. As always, if you are unable to attend this event, please make contact with the school office and they can help to arrange a suitable time for you to see your child's work.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
Mrs Murphy
A huge thank you to local author Debbie Pell ( who writes under the pen name Auren Keyes) for visiting our Year 6 classroom today! The children were absolutely buzzing to meet a professional writer and go "behind the scenes" of the writing process. From discussing how to build a world to sharing their own creative story sparks, the children left the session feeling inspired and empowered. It’s not every day you get to learn from a real author—thank you for sparking so much magic in our budding novelists!
Surrey County Council propose to introduce a 20mph Speed Limit Zone around St James to keep our children safer.
Please support us by responding to this consultation by 27th March 2026
North Weybridge and St James C of E School Proposed 20 mph Speed Limit Zone
Please can we politely ask that everyone makes a special effort NOT to drop any litter outside the school. We have had a few neighbourhood complaints.
Please help us keep the area outside the school gates clear and safe for everyone.
Please find below the current lunch menu from our school caterers, Twelve15. This is a three week rolling menu. All children choose from one of the three meal options at the start of each school day. There is also a fully stocked salad bar and fresh bread served daily.
Please remember to book school meals in advance using ARBOR.
Please see attached the 2026 Spring Term club timetable.
