A Message from Mrs Murphy

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope all parents have now received the Spring 2 newsletters which provide an overview of learning for each year group. As you will see, we are prioritising knowledge and skills within each subject with the aim to inspire children to have a love of learning across all the subjects in the curriculum.

The details of parent consultations have been sent to parents this week. Please note, these will be in person this year. Appointments will be available to be booked from Monday 6th March at 7pm. We would like to have 100% attendance from parents where possible please.

Thank you

I would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Barnett who has kindly provided the school with 30 wired computer mice for our Computing lessons. Year 5 and 6 are very grateful for this donation and we will look forward to being able to showcase what they have created.

Fond farewell

This week we wished Mrs Harrison a fond farewell as she left to take another job in a hospital. We all wish her well in the new position

We are hoping to be able to update Kingfisher class shortly on who will be joining their team.

Kind regards,

Mrs Murphy

Reception Shared Learning

Spring shared learni_HD.mp4

Reception have had their shared learning this week. Parents were all invited to an Outdoor learning session on Wednesday. Luckily the sun was shining and it was lovely to see all the children showing off their creations in the mud kitchen and riding the bikes on the junior playground. I am very grateful to all the EYFS Team for putting in so much hard work to extend our outdoor learning provision for our Reception classes.

We are keen to have feedback on these sessions, so would like to invite Reception Parents to complete this form to give us your views.

World Book Day 2023

Today has been filled with excitement as World Book Day celebrations have taken over the school. The children and staff all looked amazing in their costumes!

All the children attended an assembly run by our visiting author, Stephen Davies, and children in KS2 took part in writing workshops.

The decorating the potato competition was very hard to judge. They were all fantastic! We will announce the winners in Celebration Assembly next week!

Thank you to Miss Mahon and Mrs Dodd, who have coordinated all the activities.

Safeguarding

E- Safety

You will remember that we offered a Parent's E Safety Talk last half term.

For those parents who could not attend, please see the video recording of the session.

 Encouraging Body Confidence

This video seeks to promote positive body imagery among young people, who as always are under so much pressure to conform to a standard image expected of them by their peers, and the ‘social media community’.

It may be a useful conversation starter for you and your children

Huge Congratulations!

We would like to congratulate  Zoe, Ed, Logan, and Rohan in Year 6 who were selected to represent Surrey at the Regional Sportshall Athletics Championships.
