Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you all enjoyed the extended weekend and that all the children had a lovely time celebrating the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. In school, the children had a fantastic time with their celebration picnic and fun activities in class last Friday. Thank you to Mrs King and the School Council for treating us to an informative Coronation assembly on Friday. All the children sang the national anthem and the Coronation song.
Year 6 SATs
Congratulations to Year 6, who have completed their SATs this week. All the children have worked incredibly hard to prepare for these Statutory assessments and we are very proud of them all.
Year 2 are also working hard to complete their Statutory assessments during May.
Warm Welcome
I would like to welcome Miss Evans, who will be joining our Office team. She has already been in for a few days, working alongside the team to get to know the processes and I know all the community will make her feel welcome.
Reminder:
Please do remember to send your child into school with a Sunhat and water bottle as the sunshine is starting to come out. We also recommend that the children apply a sun cream before coming to school. Children can also bring a named bottle of sun cream into school so they and reapply during the day if needed.
Kind regards,
Mrs Murphy
A huge thank you to the volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who kindly gave up their bank holiday Monday to help St James as part of the Big Help Out. The 24 volunteers painted a fence and cleared some of the nettles from field to create a new woodland play space on the field.
