This is a quick, simple technique that both parents and young people can use to help calm themselves down if feeling stressed or anxious.
When feeling stressed or perhaps anxious:
Pause
Take a slow, deep breath, counting in for 4.
Hold for 2 seconds.
Breathe out slowly, counting to 4.
Repeat as many times as necessary.
