INTRODUCTION
For next session 2026-27 pupils will make choices for subjects they will study in S3 and S4. This page provides detailed course information for each subject as well as information regarding progression into the Senior Phase (S5 onwards). Pupils were asked to make mock or dummy options in Early to mid January 2026 - these should be as close to possible to the pupils final choices and will allow the school to test the feasability of providing current S2 fwith the most appropriate courses for study in S3 and S4.
THE RATIONALE
During S1 and S2 we offer a broad range of courses in 8 curricular areas: Mathematics, Languages (English and Modern Languages), Social Subjects, Science, Technologies, Expressive Arts, Health and Wellbeing and Religious and Moral Education.
In S3, pupils will be able to choose subjects which interest them most. Breadth of learning will be maintained through two or three blocks of project based learning. Pupils are encouraged to choose subjects in which they show personal interest or strengths. Pupils will make 4 considered choices from the 8 curricular areas (CfE) in addition to Mathematics, English, Modern Languages, Physical Education and Religious Education, Health and Wellbeing.
