At St. Mary’s we pride ourselves in wearing our full school uniform and there will be no exception to this for session 2023/24.
The wearing of a school uniform has a number of very clear advantages:
It encourages a school identity and encourages pupils to develop a sense of community and collective responsibility.
Enables staff to identify our pupils on the school premises and therefore if any intruders are in our school grounds they are easily identifiable.
Protects parents/carers from the financial pressures of having to keep up with changing fashions.

We are aware, especially at this time, that school uniform could be an additional cost to some families. To help alleviate this, could we ask that if you have any uniforms at home that no longer fit your child and are in good condition if they could be handed into the school office. We will ensure they go towards supporting a child or family who are in need.
We have a very good supply of high quality pre-loved school clothing in school so if you are in need of extra trousers, skirts, sweatshirts, etc please contact the school office.
