Vision and Values
Manda Stocks, Head Teacher.
Stirling Support Inclusion Service is a provision that supports Stirling schools to meet the needs of children and young people who have additional support needs.
We have a multi-disciplinary staff team consisting of a family support worker, inclusion support workers, support for learning assistants, administration officers and teachers. The Extended Leadership team consists of the headteacher, principal teachers and inclusion support worker team leader.
The service aims to improve outcomes for children and young people by offering support and capacity building for staff, targeted planning and direct work for some children and young people and the provision of off-site placements for the small number of children and young people where this is required.
Relational, nurturing and trauma-informed approaches, underpinned by the Neurosequential Model in Education, permeate every aspect of the service.
Our vision and values are based upon national legislation, guidelines and Stirling Council initiatives, including UNCRC, The Promise and The Principles of Nurture.
These approaches, supported by a range of assessments, offer our learners opportunities to engage in individualised learning pathways, designed to improve wellbeing, raise attainment and develop skills for learning, life and work.
SISS foster and maintain close working relationships with families and wider agencies, meeting each learner where they are.
We aim for all in our school community to be:
Safe in our environment
Secure in our relationships
Successful in our learning
