Education Scotland

In 2017 Education Scotland released the ‘Applying Nurture as a Whole School Approach’ document. This is a framework to support the self-evaluation of nurturing approaches in schools and Early Learning & Childcare settings and combined key elements of ‘How Nurturing is our School’ and HGIOS 4.  This document recognises the importance of  nurturing approaches, not only for those children who come from areas of disadvantage and require additional targeted support to close the equity gap, but to support all children’s wellbeing through universal approaches to nurture.

The self-evaluation appendices are included here as pdf documents however those marked with an * are also available in Google versions which can be personalised for your setting. Please ask yourr link Educational Psychologist if you would like the Google versions of these.
