Uniform at Balfron High School

Why Uniform?

There are many positive reasons why at Balfron High, we believe in the value of school uniform. Now that mitigations from the pandemic have relaxed, our focus is firmly back on taking care of the little things that can make a big difference. School uniform is one of these. Here's why:

  • Equality - School uniform removes the stigma attached to not having or wearing a particular branded item. This reduces peer group pressure. Items of uniform are significantly more affordable than branded clothes.

  • Safety - Balfron High pupils need to be quickly and easily recognisable on campus.

  • Work Ethic - We regard school as a place of work for our young people school and wearing school uniform creates the right climate and mind set required for learning and success.

  • Pride - Wearing school uniform instils pride, a sense of belonging, and a sense of purpose. We are committed to creating a positive image in school, the wider community and being good neighbours.

When purchasing an outdoor jacket, please ensure there is room for a blazer underneath. Finally, all pupils should travel to and from school in their uniform.

If your child requires reasonable adaptations to the school uniform as a result of their additional support needs, please discuss this with your child’s Pupil Support Teacher.

We thank parents and carers for their support and cooperate with this policy. Together we contribute to making Balfron High a great place to come to school with a positive reputation.
