High school isn't easy. It's a major adjustment, not only socially, but academically. If you find yourself sinking, get help as soon as possible! Don't wait and play catch up at the end of the term. Here are a few tips:
EAS - (Evening Alternative School) - EAS is offered from 4:10-6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday in the SHS Library. Teachers are available for assistance. Students can be assigned to EAS for academic or discipline reasons. Students have the opportunity to complete missing assignments and/or make up tests. Library resources including computers and books are available for student use.
Math Tutoring - The Mathematics Learning Success Center (MLSC) at Oklahoma State University partners with SHS to provide math support to students. Every Tuesday, tutors from the MLSC are available to provide student assistance in any math course. Find them in the SHS Library from 4:00 to 5:00.
Not available after school? MLSC also offers drop-in math tutoring for high school students on the OSU campus. Find more information here.
After School Credit Recovery - This program is offered through Lincoln Academy for students who failed or did not receive credit in an English, Math, Science, or History course. The goal is to "recover" the needed credit without repeating the entire course. Contact your school counselor for a referral.
