I am looking forward to a school year filled with learning and fun!
This year, students will continue using Duolingo to assist our curriculum in advancing their Spanish language acquisition. This program allows all students to begin at their current level and move forward from there. Additionally, students will have access to Spanish language texts and workbooks in the classroom for further advancement, giving each student a personalized approach.
Classroom Routine and Expectations:
Enter quietly, move to your assigned seat and be ready with your Spanish notebook, headphones and Chromebook.
My expectation is that students will be actively engaged and working. Each marking period will include various assignments that will support a greater understanding of Spanish countries and culture.
Grading Policy:
Students are being graded on their progression and advancement through the Duolingo program as well as participation, preparedness and completion of assignments. Students are not expected to work on Duolingo outside of school, but they do have the ability to login through their Google Spanish Classroom it if they like. Students will also be graded throughout the marking period on their focus/on task behavior during class. It is important that students strive to stay on task so that they, as well as their peers, have an excellent learning environment.
