Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to one of the most incredible years your child will have in their school journey! Kindergarten is a wonderful and exciting time as children begin their adventures in learning. It is a year full of important firsts—making new friends, exploring letters and numbers, and building the foundation for future success.
To help your child have a successful year, please make sure they come prepared with the following items:
1 zipper neoprene Chromebook case (sized for a 16-inch Chromebook)
Headphones with a microphone and a 3.5mm L-shaped jack (Please note: No earbuds, please)
Kindergarten will be using Scholastic News. Please send in $6.50 Cash Only/ Exact Change in an envelope labeled with your child's name by Friday, September 5th.
I am looking forward to making this a fun and meaningful year, and I hope to help your child develop a love of learning that will stay with them for years to come!

Dear Parents,
Here are the sight words introduced. Every once in a while practice with your child. Ideas of ways of helping:
while driving as them to spell a word or two
have them write notes to family members
get them a journal to write about special events you have participated in (let them phonetically spell on own, then go over it with them and discuss if a sight word is in their story, let's check.)
make a hopscotch board outside with the sight words
Please do not push too hard, they work very hard in school. Be supportive and I'll be the teacher. I know my kids hated when I pushed too hard.

Homework will be given Monday - Thursday. It should be a quick easy review of what we have done in class and should not take too long. If for some reason your child is struggling please send me a note and we can work together to make it easier for all of us.
Remind your child to:
Write his/her name on top ( One uppercase and the rest lowercase)
Use a pencil for any writing of letters and numbers
Crayon is used for coloring - no markers
