Social Studies- Great job with your Chapter 5 tests on Friday!! I am really impressed with how well you did with all the events leading up to the American Revolution.
This week we are going to start Chapter 6, A New Nation. Lesson 1 Articles of Confederation (p.188-193)
Please complete the worksheet found below for Friday.
Now that the revolution was over, it was up to the representatives to create a new government that would limit control over the people.
As you read this lesson, you will:
understand how the American government was structured under the Articles of Confederation and describe the weaknesses of this structure.
summarize how the lack of a national currency and large war debts led to inflation and economic troubles for the new nation.
understand how Shays' Rebellion led to increased calls for a stronger national government.
explain why the Constitutional Convention was called and what it was intended to do.
