Good Thursday morning,
We have worked hard this week. Math skills were a little challenging
and may take a little time to master. We covered adding money amounts,
adding square roots and fractions, and months and days of the year.
We will multiply by 0 and 5. Please continue to work on multiplication, addition and subtraction facts at home. Most students are very quick with these while others are still using fingers. These skills are essential to
being successful in 3rd grade.
In language, we learned about reflexive pronouns, vowel variants, and
syllables.
Religion was about miracles of Jesus and self-control.
Have a wonderful weekend~

Dear Parents,
It's hard to believe but First Communion will be here before we
know it!
Students are working hard to get ready but need a little extra
help from you. It is important that parents take their child to
Mass and help them follow along, say prayers, genuflect, kneel
and try to recite prayers that are on the screen.
Please consider signing up each week for the remaining 7 weeks
to model for your child Mass expectations.
Thank you~
Debbie
Good morning,
I hope you are enjoying the wonderful weather. Recess has been fun and
so much more enjoyable.
Please make sure to send the First Communion book to school tomorrow. Students should have read chapter 2 and completed the questions. Last week
we went to the atrium and learned how to set up the altar and what goes on the altar during Mass.
Students have learned how to combine sentences this week and used this skill
to write stories. We read a story about the rainforest and drew pictures to show
the animals who live there.
We finished up our study of heroes learning about American Tall Tale heroes such as Paul Bunyan, Johnny Appleseed, and Pecos Bill. Remember our
family hero interviews are due next Thursday, March 11. Students will share part of the information with their classmates.
Math skills this week have been writing 4 digit numbers, missing addends,
multiplication facts for 7, and exponents.
A couple of reminders, remember to sell March Madness tickets and students
can not wear shorts or capris until the ok is given from Mrs. Martin.
Have a fun weekend!

Good morning,
This was a big week for 2nd graders First Reconciliation. Father Stephen told me on Wednesday he thought each child did a wonderful job. I am very proud of them and appreciate your help with this Sacrament.
We shared our Sacrament projects today and each student gave a
very good meaning and showed a picture of the Sacrament they chose.
We experimented with invisible forces today. Students made "hoppers" and I know they will share them tonight with you.

Math: place value to hundreds, writing three-digit numbers in expanded form, and properties of triangles.
Social Studies: Native Americans, timeline of the United States, holidays, celebrations, and Thanksgiving. We made Native American beads. These were beautiful!
We had Drop Everything and Read to go along with deer hunting season.

Please be safe over Thanksgiving vacation. Sometimes we have to forego big family gatherings for the good of others. As we learned this week in religion, use your conscience.
Enjoy your weekend~
