About Me

Hi!  I am Mary Bellmar. I am excited to be teaching Fifth Grade Religion, Language Arts, and Social Studies at St. Giles.  Prior to coming to St. Giles, I subbed in Oak Park, and I taught at Providence St. Mel School for seventeen years.  I live in Oak Park with my husband, Peter, and our two children; Theresa is in ninth grade and Teddy is going into sixth grade.

I grew up in New York and earned my BA in History from Adelphi University and a MA in History from the University of Chicago.  I studied for my teaching license and a special education endorsement at Dominican University.

In my free time, I love being with my family and friends, music, cooking, and trying to grow things in my garden. I especially like learning new things.
