Team Trees

Team Trees was an initiative brought forward by YouTuber Mr. Beast in May 2019. Social media influencers across YouTube and other popular platforms promoted #TeamTrees, ultimately the project reached its goal and managed to plant over 20 million trees. This was a wonderful initiative! Not only did it have people talking about the benefits of tree planting (water safety, sucks CO₂, etc.), the money donated to Team Trees went to the Arbor Day Foundation (who, as far as we can tell, know their stuff*).

Despite this initiative, more needs to be done. It took an estimated 1.32 days (not even 2 days) for tree-chopping companies to cut down the equivalent amount of trees Mr. Beast & other content creators took months fundraising for. We must not loose hope, there are many people worldwide working on reforestation projects, as well as conservationists who are stopping deforestation before it even happens.
