Zaner-Bloser is the spelling program used 3rd Grade - 5th Grade.
Students will take the pretest for each unit on Monday (or Tuesday if we are off school on Monday). Based on the score of the pretest, students will be assigned a level for that spelling unit which will determine their word list for the unit test on Friday. Each level is represented by a shape (circle, diamond, or square). Students' level may differ each week depending on the unit.
Here is a break down of the pretest scores that determine the level.
0-9 = emerging (circle)
10-17 = on level (diamond)
18-20 = challenge (square)
Throughout the week, students will work on the unit pages. This may be assigned as homework if not completed in class.
Here is a list of the units that will be done throughout the year. We will skip the review units.
