Student Attendance
Having your child to school on time is important to their success! Timeliness helps them develop good habits and routines. It shows children your commitment to their learning and friendships. It helps reduce classroom disruptions and distractions for all students. We appreciate your promptness as students begin working as soon as they enter the classroom. If your child is unexpectantly absent, please contact your childs teacher to make arrangements for pick-up of missed classroom assignments. If you know in advance that your child will be missing school for a specific number of days, we will do our best to provide your family with missed classroom assignments prior to the absence.
Please complete the Student Excuse Verification Form (found on the school website) for all student absences.
Behavior and Classroom Rules
In order to provide our students with the excellent educational climate they deserve, a classroom discipline plan will be in effect at all times. The rules will follow along with our school core values:
TROJANS "RULE"~ Responsibility, Unity, Leadership, and Empathy.
Our class rules: Follow directions, use your words to solve problems, walking feet in the classroom.
Lunch
Kindergarten students will eat lunch in the school cafeteria. Your child will have the option to bring a lunch from home, and/ or participate in our school hot lunch program. It may be helpful to remind your child if they are bringing lunch from home or purchasing school lunch, or on days they are alternating lunches.
Recess
Students will have daily recess outside on the Pre-K/ Kindergarten playground in the afternoon. We will take the children outside as much as possible, except for inclement weather (freezing temperatures, rain, thunder, lightning, and/ or strong winds). Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day.

Backpacks
Students will need to bring a backpack to school each day. The backpack must be large enough to carry your child's academic materials and supplies to and from school.
Water Bottles
Students may use a water bottle throughout the school day. The water bottles need to be leakproof, if turned upside down. They must contain only water. Please label with your child's name.
Personal Items
Please label all your child’s personal items (coats, jackets, sweaters, mittens, gloves, shoes, hats, backpacks, water bottles, lunchboxes, etc.) These items are frequently misplaced and it is much easier to retrieve missing items from the "Lost and Found" that are labeled.

Please send in a complete change of clothes (top, bottoms, underwear, socks). These will all fit in a gallon or quart size Ziploc bag. Please write the students name on the bag.
