Procedures & Miscellaneous
RenWeb
Grades from the week will be posted 5 School Days from date of completion. It is important to check weekly because extra credit is not done with the weighted grades.
Distant Learning Grades will be posted in 5 School Days. (This is only when students are in a virtual learning setting)
Chromebooks
Each student will have their own Chromebook to use in the classroom. Students will be given their own google account that will continue through their 8th grade year. This google account allows students to access their content from any computer or device with data or internet.
Google Classroom/Expectations
Google Classroom is a product that aligns with their Google account and allows students to see their assignments, as well as turn them in. This will be a gradual transition for the 4th graders. It is our hope to use Google Classroom & I-ready for Cyber Days. We will also use this product to complete class work in the various subjects, with gradual implementation throughout the year.
Homework on Google Classroom must be completed & turned in by a particular scheduled time or at 8 AM the next morning.
All posted work in Google Classroom will be posted by 8 a.m.
Students' scores from online tests are posted in their emails.

ABSENT STUDENT MAKE-UP WORK PROCEDURE
Homework Policy due to Illness/Quarantine: If a student is absent they may receive their assignments when they return to school. If a student is absent for more than one day, a parent may call the school office by 2:00 pm to arrange for homework assignments to be ready for pickup the following day or given to the student upon return. Additionally, students may check Google Classroom / Teacher Websites for daily assignments. For absences less than five (5) consecutive days, students are allotted the number of sick days absent to turn in missing assignments that were assigned during their absence. For absences beyond five (5) consecutive days, arrangements must be made with the child’s teacher(s) to create a schedule to complete any missed assignments and/or assessments. To ensure academic integrity, assessments will not be provided nor taken during a student absence. Upon return, scheduled assessments (quizzes, tests, projects) will be delayed one school day unless a student is prepared to take the assessment on that day.
School Cancellations: Students are expected to have their completed assignments upon returning to school. There are no extensions granted for distance learning assignments unless communication has taken place between student (or parent) and teacher. In the event that a student does not have reasonable access to the internet during a snow day, teachers will make other efforts to provide the class work for the student.
ABSENT STUDENT MAKE-UP WORK PROCEDURE DUE TO VACATIONS
Homework during Vacations/Planned Absences: Parents are encouraged to schedule trips or family outings during long weekends and holiday times to eliminate the need to interrupt a child’s learning process. Teachers will make a reasonable effort to accomodate families by providing student work to students prior to the planned absence, understanding that not all assignments may be given in advance due to the pace of instruction during the absence. In addition to student work that is provided, students may check Google Classroom / Teacher Websites for daily assignments to help keep up with their work while they are away. For absences less than five (5) consecutive days, students are allotted the number of days absent to turn in missing assignments that were assigned during their absence. For absences of five (5) consecutive days or more, arrangements must be made with the child’s teacher(s) to create a schedule to complete any missed assignments and/or assessments. To ensure academic integrity, assessments will not be provided nor taken during a student absence. Upon return, scheduled assessments (quizzes, tests, projects) will be delayed one school day unless a student is prepared to take the assessment on that day.
Snacks
Students may bring in a nutritious snack daily. Reusable water bottles that the students can keep on their desk is encouraged. Please do not send in canned drinks and candy. Students will have a working snack and snacks will be completed by dismissal for Specials (8:50 AM).
Birthdays
If you wish to bring a snack, we want it pre-packed and Nut free with nutritious guidelines to ensure safety for students with allergies and other health issues. We ask to provide enough of the snack for both 4th-grade homerooms. (27 students so far)
Invitations
Students will be allowed to pass out invitations at school. If there is not an invitation for students in both homerooms, then invitations will not be handed out.
