Watch this Ocean video before your reading workshops
If you are not in a workshop you will be doing independent tasks. Please find your independent tasks below.
Please click on your reading group's digital modelling book below and have this open at the start of your reading workshop. Please mark your attendance by using the paint icon to fill in your box green.
Why is the Ocean Blue?
Have You Ever Wondered...
Why is the ocean blue?
Do all bodies of water appear blue?
Why are some oceans more clear than others?
Read the Wonderopolis reading and answer the three questions above. Use the template below if you like.
Please don't start your 'create' task until Week 2. You may select one of the following options:
Create a "Save the Oceans Poster" showing things people can do to protect and preserve the Oceans.
Create an "Ocean Life Mural" showing various kinds of creatures that live in the Ocean.
Create a "Oceans: True or False? Quiz" to test the knowledge of the Oceans. Use Google Forms. Min 10 questions.
Write a simple book or poster for a child in Kākano to teach them about the Ocean's layers.
Imagine you are a submarine who is able to travel into the deep depths of the Ocean! What do you see? What does it look like? How do you feel? You are to create a comic using Google Slides to show your journey to the deep depths of the Ocean. You are to have images and dialogue - this can be done with a buddy.
Share your create task with the wider class and onto your Edublog. Remember when blogging to include the following:
A catchy title
Your learning goal/s for the week/s
What you were asked to do/what you learnt this week in reading
An explanation of your create task
An image or link to your task
A question at the end!
