Collaboration - This skill requires people to work together to complete a task. It involves co-operation and teamwork and the sharing of ideas, knowledge and skills to reach the same objective. Some key skills are:
work with people's strengths and weaknesses
take responsibility (individual and collective) for the collaborative process
social and emotional skills and the ability to communicate across cultures
respectfully raise and explore different options and are able to move forward in the direction the team identifies
ability to empathise, listen and learn from others
Creativity - Someone that demonstrates this skill is a reflective and creative thinker who solves problems and makes responsible decisions for the common good. These people may ask questions to generate ideas and purse those ideas to turn them into action (social or economic ideas). This may look like;
identifying opportunities with social, environmental or economic value
framing problems and posing questions, actively grappling with big ideas, challenging status quo and exhibiting genuine curiosity
an eye for novel ideas, can integrate multiple perspectives and can pursue these to fruition
leadership skills and can bring people with them to create deep change by exciting/inspiring others
perseverance and vision to lead a task to a promising outcome
Communication - Communication is the act of giving, receiving, and sharing information. Someone that demonstrates this skill listens carefully, speaks or writes clearly, and respects different opinions. Some key skills are:
articulate and deliver a connected and coherent message with smart choices of communication modes and tools
identify what excites, motivates/worries particular audiences and how to engage/challenge others to think and act differently
reflect on communication style, monitor their audience and adapt to strengthen their message.
Critical Thinking - Someone who can evaluate information and arguments, see patterns and connections, construct meaningful knowledge, and apply it in the real world. Some key skills are:
explain their own reasoning
create knowledge that is new and useable to them.
think and work together in ways that sparks powerful ideas and this becomes a preferred way of thinking around complex tasks
experimenting to develop prototypes in real world settings and can articulate their application, seek feedback to develop better ideas
Character - Someone who has traits of grit and resilience; and the ability to make learning an integral part of living. Some key skills are:
seek feedback and use it to better their learning
work through challenges and setbacks (grit and flexibility)
confidently support others through challenges.
take responsibility for their own learning and improvement
highly developed grit and resilience and understand their importance in life, work and the world
Global Citizenship - Global citizenship is the idea that one's identity goes beyond geography or political borders and that responsibilities or rights are come from membership in a broader class: "humanity". Some key skills are:
use their understanding of their own and other’s cultures to consider global issues in relations to diverse values and world-views
view of environmental issues and their importance to enact positive change
show a high level of interest and comfort in addressing real-world problems

Task: Write a paragraph (7-8 sentences) that states how you demonstrated several of the 6 C's whilst away on Camp.
Mention and state how you showed at least TWO of the 6 C's at Camp.
Use the following questions to help guide your paragraph...
What was your favourite part of Camp and why?
What new skills or strategies did you learn that helped you in your different Camp activities?
What did you find to be most challenging while away at camp and how did you overcome and accept these challenges?
How did you collaborate effectively with other people when you were away at Camp?
What communication skills did you use when you were at Camp? i.e. how did these differ between activities (Coasteering, high ropes, orienteering)
