Writing to Instruct
The learning focus this week is to create content that is concise and relevant to the curriculum task. Writers must consider the audience, purpose, context, length, and complexity—plus the specific content of the instructions.
Task: Good vs Bad Instructions
What are the features of effective instructions?
CREATE
Create a set of instructions for someone else to follow
Brainstorm some ideas of what you could write about
Pick your audience carefully, what age of person are you trying to instruct - this will dictate your use of vocabulary.
Criteria
Must be no more than 150 words.
You must have no more than 8 steps.
Could you create a video or audio of your instructions?
SHARE
Share your work onto your blog. Remember it must have a catchy title for your audience, a brief intro about what you have done (your learning goal), your piece of writing - reflection about it and a question to engage your audience to comment.
