No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. - Aesop
Buff the following L4 HERO Goals:
use tree diagrams to find the possible outcomes for a sequence of events.
record results and plot frequency of outcomes.
make and justify the probability of events in common situations.
use more than one way to find a theoretical probability.
make sensible statements about information with reference to supporting evidence.
use relative frequency to predict events.
We will cover some of these this week and some next week. If you can achieve these goals over the next two weeks we will then Green Level 3 for those who need that ticked off first.
LEARN & CREATE
Theoretical Probability - The theoretical probability of an event is a measure of how likely the event is going to happen.
Probability = Number of outcomes in an event
Number of possible outcomes
Probability does not tell us exactly what will happen, it is just a guide. The probability of an event can only be between 0 and 1 and can also be written as a percentage.
In your Maths folder is your own copy of the below slideshow, this is where you will add your probability tasks for the next two weeks.
