Q: How do you reset your password if you forget it?
A: Passwords for all Google Workspace for Education accounts are created through the admin console. If you need to reset your password email glillis@stfinianscollege.ie and you will be notified of your new temporary password within 24 hours. On your next log-in, you will be requested to create your own password. Google passwords must contain a minimum of 8 characters.
Q: My device will not allow me access Google Classroom or other Apps within the G Suite?
A: To access the school Google Workspace platform, the user must ensure that there is no other Google Account/email address open on the device. Ensure that you have logged-out from every other Google account, apart from your official school Google Workspace account. Failing this, the user could also try clearing the cache that can be found by going to the 3 dots up the top right, selecting history, history again and then 'clear browsing data'. Set the time range to 'All time' and click on 'clear data'.
Q: Can a student who isn't in your class join a Google Meet?
A: Nobody can join your Google Meet apart from the students in your Google Classroom unless their request to join the Meet is granted by the teacher. The teacher may allow an external email account to join a Meet (eg PME supervisor).
Q: Can a teacher dismiss a student from a Google Meet?
A: Yes. Click on the 3 dots after the student's name and the teacher will have the option of removing the student.
Q: What if a student is unable to upload work to Google Classroom?
