1= switch on Satellite view

2 = switch on Terrain (show the terrain model with contour lines then show the satellite view)

3 = Share the map or embed (into new sites)

With Satellite on

1 = labels on and off

2 = 3D on and off

Right click on the map and choose the above options

Directions - google maps take you there

Measure distance - click on the map and then click again at the end and measure. (great for scale)

The black line is the distance measured, just click where there are places or points of interest, or a bend in the road.

Streetview - from within maps - just grab Pegman

Maps.google.com/streetview

1= jump out to map

2 = Share or Embed

3 = Timeslider

While you can maneuver around the Street View world with your mouse, you can also get around with just your keyboard. Here are some good ones to know:

+ / - zoom in / out

left / right arrow keys turn left / right

up / down arrow keys move forward / backward

A / D turn left / right

W / S move forward / backward
