Weekly reports:
Week 1: [2021-02-01] Completed Exercise 0 by creating Design VI page for weekly reports, studied course procedures, required Raspberry Pi equipment, and grading scheme, and installed Python IDE
Week 2: [2021-02-08] Completed lesson 1, which included an overview of the course and engineering principles.
Week 3: [2021-02-15] My pi decided not to work anymore. The SIM card corrupted over the weekend. Spent time trying to reformat, but no use. Professor Wu tried to help me as well, but to no avail, I went out to buy a new one. Since I spent the money on the new card I did not buy more materials for the lab for this class.
Week 4: [2021-02-22] No class
Week 5: [2021-03-01] Couldn't do the lab due to not having the materials needed. Got together with my group to start discussing the project proposal. We brainstormed accouple ideas and will keep brainstorming this next week.
Week 6: [2021-03-08] Read through the lab manual, couldn't do the lab due to not having the materials needed. Really interested in the topics and projects being done in this course. Wished we had it in person. Have accouple solid ideas for the proposal. Throughout the week we brainstormed, and hopefully will have a final idea soon.
Week 7: [2021-03-15] Went through Lab 5b in class. Think we might have narrowed down what to do for the proposal. THe two final ideas are a water tracking system and a smart oven.
Week 8: [2021-03-22] We have whole heartily picked our design proposal idea. We will be making a as smart water bottle for fitness enthusiasts. The idea is that we would be a be able to work with a fitness company like fitbit or whoop and have data on how much a given person exercises. Then calculate the amount of water a given individual needs in a given day. The bottle then would communicate if they are behind or ahead of their water intake. I went through lab as well.
Week 9: [2021-03-29] My group met to discuss potential names for our project, as we picked which of our original concepts we wanted to continue forward with. We decided on the name Drinking buddy. The reason we didn't want to stick to keeping water in the name is because we did not want to block ourselves in a corner and keep the doors open to use our bottle with other drinks as well.
Week 10: [2021-04-5] The lesson for this week was centered around ethics and liability. Various ethics codes were reviewed such as IEEE and NPSE. The lesson also encompassed importance of ethics and legality surrounding ethical practices. Ethics of upcoming technology like automated vehicles was also presented as they present serious ethical concerns.
Week 11: [2021-04-12] The lesson for this week was about failure and hazard analysis. The lesson informs on the differences between hazard and failure.I downloaded the required programs onto my pi. I then ran through the quantum experience and did some of the QiSkit examples. The main focus for the week was to work on the project. The group met a couple of times and we built an outline for the website. https://sites.google.com/stevens.edu/ee322-drinkingbuddy/project
Week 12: [2021-04-19] The lesson for the week was Design Analysis. The lesson taught about the different decision methods used in engineering. We specifically went over the KT method. The other main goal of this week was to really focus on getting the website ideas together.
Week 12: [2020-4-26] The lesson this week was on implementation. The lesson includes topics about potential failures. My roommate was in the expo so it was fun listening to his project
Week 13: [2020-5-03] This week was focused on the project. We made sure we hit all the requirements for the website.
