Team Assessments

The team had many successes over the semester. The team was great in working in smaller groups on individual projects. An example is the IoT device subteam that is building a data transmission device for RoBoat. This subteam made great strives to develop a device that can transmit accelerometer and GPS data to the base station. The team also excels in its ability to make fast decisions. Due to the fast pace of this project, the team constantly needs to make decisions within a small timeframe. The team works well to ensure all options are considered and moves fast to make a decision to keep pace with the project completion timeline.

The team needs to improve in a few areas. Currently, there is a lack of communication between some subteams and the entire team. An example of the lack of communication is with the load cell on the manned version of RoBoat. The subteam rarely meets to work on the design of this system and has not communicated with other teams on their progress. The team could also improve the distribution of work. Currently, some members are overwhelmed with the number of tasks they need to accomplish, while others are not accomplishing much.
