The Paren Lab is looking for undergraduate and graduate students who are passionate about doing materials research related to polymers and energy.  Our group is committed to an inclusive and respectful work environment. 

Current openings:

PhD Students: We do not currently have PhD openings for Fall 2024, but we will likely have openings in future semesters. Prospective PhD students should email Prof. Paren at bparen@stevens.edu to alert him of your interest in joining the group, or if you have questions about the group or research. Prospective PhD students should apply directly to the PhD program. If you are already a graduate student at Stevens, or have recently been admitted, please send an email directly to Prof. Paren.

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.S. and/or M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline 

• Previous experience with polymers, energy storage and conversion, or other materials-related research 

We are looking for motivated students who can thrive in a rigorous and collaborative environment, to solve materials challenges related to global energy sustainability. 

Undergraduate Students: We may have openings for undergraduate students looking to conduct research during the school year or during the summer. No research experience is necessary. Please contact Prof. Paren directly at bparen@stevens.edu if you are interested and to check availability. 

Master's Students: We may have research opportunities for Master's students, please contact Prof. Paren for availability. 

Postdocs: We do not currently have a postdoc opening. However, if you already have funding, or are planning to apply for an external Postdoctoral Fellowship and are interested in working with with the Paren Lab, please email Prof. Paren with your interest.
