As of now, we plan to continue this project for Senior Design. Matthew Suh and Aidan Ruck will collaborate on the project, while Nicholas Scirocco will pursue a different one. Before finalizing our decision, we intend to test various methods over the summer to ensure that we can successfully develop a functional machine.
We intend to pursue the same project for Senior Design, though we may need to revise our methods to ensure the successful delivery of a functional machine.
During the summer break, we will conduct research and development on both the methods proposed in this class and alternative approaches that may be more effective. We will also use this time to recruit additional teammates and identify a professor who would be a good fit as our advisor.
If our research and development phase is successful, we will continue working on this project for design 7 and aim to have a working prototype ready by the time the Innovation Expo takes place in 2026.
Nicholas Scirocco:
While I very much did enjoy working with this group throughout D6, I am choosing to pursue another project for my senior design project. The project of choice is a robotics-based project with a group of a few mechanical engineering students and a software engineering student. I am choosing this route because I am simply more interested in robotics, and this group requires a CPE to contribute to the success of their project. As for our plan going forward, we have plans this summer to begin the project and get a head start before the fall rolls around.
Matthew Suh:
I enjoyed working with this group this semester and found that we collaborate effectively. This project began as a personal passion of mine, and I had originally planned to continue developing it outside of class. Over the summer, I intend to explore alternative approaches to bring this project to life. I hope these experiments are successful so that I can continue pursuing this project in the fall.
Aidan Ruck:
I found our project for this class incredibly interesting, as the field I want to end up in relates to PCBs and chipsets. After being asked to continue this into next year, I thought for a long time about my Senior Design project. As someone with a successful company through Launchpad, I was unsure if I was going to present and take that with me, but I have decided that no matter what, I want to be intellectually stimulated. Therefore, I want to help develop this project with Matthew further. I found that our collaboration was effective and clear, and that we can work well with each other. As someone with an 'entrepreneurial spirit,' I find myself wanting to dedicate my all to seeing this project come to life. As a life-long hobbyist, I know that I would've loved access to this many years ago. All of these factors contribute to my wish to continue this. If I have to work on both projects, I will dedicate my all to them. Over the summer, I will hopefully be working with Matthew to start work on this project.
