Our most relevant customer base will be instrumental musicians who can utilize an intuitive software to display the current note they are playing. We plan to build a graphical user interface that, when given a sound input from any instrument, can deliver the notes being played. This is extremely helpful for musicians as they can utilize the software to tune their instruments as well as compose music.
By processing the frequency of a sound input, we can determine the musical note associated with that frequency and display it to the user. Another potential customer base are sound engineers that need to process isolated frequencies from their surroundings. Rather than displaying the musical note, the user can have the option to change the output to frequency (in hertz) to get more scientific data. If the user wants musical data, they can easily toggle back to outputting notes.
We believe this software solves a wide variety of problems dealing with sound that many professionals can take advantage of. By understanding how sound input works and the respective calculations involved with interpolating sound data, we plan to provide a comprehensive software to the customer base highlighted.
Recognizing what the customer needs is imperative for building a successful product. Here we list what we believe to be the most important factors:
A reliable piece of software that is bug-free and displays accurate results
An affordable piece of software that does not financially burden amateurs or professionals
To engineer an intuitive software that is easy to understand
To provide consistent software updates to improve user experience

For this project, there are things that require in order to build a product that best serves the customer. Such things include:
An understanding of what musician's want displayed, as well as how they want it displayed (i.e. custom interfaces)
Knowledge of different instruments and the frequency each one plays at
The final product must be accessible to everyone
The GUI must be intuitive to use and have a help function for users to navigate with ease
The readings must be accurate and quick
User inputs should yield quick results and user interface should not be cluttered
The interface of the application needs to be seamless in order for the user to use it while playing their instrument or producing music
The product should be free or reduced cost to students and be provided to professionals based on the scale of use
Feedback should be received from customers regularly so that the product may be updated to satisfy the customer
