Do not let this happen. It will leave a permanent, negative mark on your immigration record, complicating travel and visa renewals in the future. If you go “out of status,” inform ISS immediately to discuss your options for regaining status.

[ ] Identify yourself as F-1/J-1 when speaking with Success Coach, Faculty, and Staff
Deadlines/requirements (e.g., I-94 should state “F-1” after each entry with the F-1 visa)
Immigration documents that CANNOT expire (e.g., passport and I-20 travel signature)
Personal information reporting (e.g., Update address/phone within 10 days of change)
Actions that result in termination (e.g., excessive online enrollment)
Acceptable employment (e.g., not working more than 20/week in the Fall and Spring semesters)
