“Duration of Status” Rule Change Paused
On September 14th, a United States District Judge granted a nationwide preliminary injunction temporarily pausing the proposed changes to “duration of status” (D/S) for F and J nonimmigrants while litigation proceeds
International students will continue to be admitted to the United States for Duration of Status (D/S) and will continue to be able to make changes to their academic programs under the rules that were currently in place. ISS will continue to monitor developments and rulings related to the lawsuit closely and share timely updates as appropriate.
