The St. Dorothy Life, Justice, & Peace Ministry works to promote the dignity and sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. With the implementation of programs for prayer, education, and advocacy, we seek to increase awareness for social justice issues throughout the parish and the community.
Some of the ways we are involved with social justice concerns include having an ongoing peaceful, prayerful presence at the local Planned Parenthood on Route 66 in Glendora; putting on a St. Joseph’s Day bake sale which raises money to benefit the less fortunate in our community; collecting items to fill travel bags for the Get On The Bus program; putting on a “baby shower” fundraiser for our local pregnancy resource centers; organizing volunteers to visit & socialize with people in our local rehabilitation facility; providing volunteers for a local halfway house for women; and planning an annual Candlelight Procession for the unborn.
In addition, we provide information and resources regarding Life, Justice, & Peace topics such as human trafficking, physician-prescribed suicide, parental notification rights, end of life issues, Natural Family Planning, etc. Please contact us if you would like to join our efforts and/or be added to our e-mail list.
