High School Science Classes that are offered by Ms. Marzinske at St. Clair High School:
Earth Science 9 - An introduction to our dynamic Earth! Learn about our structure, including our water, atmosphere, geology, soil, and nutrient cycles.
Physical Science 8 -- A year-long course to learn about the laws of nature that govern the movement and changes, yet conservation of, matter and energy. Group lab activities, projects, and problems solving allow students to predict possible outcomes in hypothetical and real situations.
Chemistry 10 -- A year-long course covering the basic principles of inorganic chemistry. Concepts and topics include lab safety, atomic structure, the states of matter, periodic table trends, chemical bonding, and reaction types, and chemical math. Laboratory activities reinforce unit topics.
Integrated Science 9-10-This yearlong lab- and project-based course utilizes cross-cutting concepts in science, engineering, and basic math. Disciplinary core ideas within physics and chemistry will be featured to explore matter, energy, systems, and processes. The student will learn how to investigate using lab tools and critical thinking skills. Students will explore, make observations, collect data, hypothesize, compare & contrast ideas, and summarize information to share with others.Throughout this course, the student will enhance skills in critical thinking, language arts, mathematics, and computer literacy.
Earth's Environmental Issues (11-12) -- A year-long course designed to familiarize students with the principles of hydrology, geology, and ecology. Students will employ their understanding of these principles in exploring current events to theorize and discuss potential impacts on their environment and society. Emphasis is placed on conservation (wise use) and sustainability.
