Mrs Rodgers has given the Middle Team $500 to spent on equipment to be played with at playtime and lunchtime. (This is for real).
You can choose what equipment and how much equipment. But you can’t go over the $500 limit. Choose from the list below and add up how much it comes to. Check it is under $500.

→ You need to pick 6 problems from your class site to complete. Make sure they are a ‘good fit’.
→ Read the problem carefully and then answer it on your blank clock sheet.

1. Mrs Rietveld was wondering when lunchtime finished. It starts at 12.30pm and play finishes an hour later. What time does lunchtime finish? Show on your clock.
2. Mrs Rietveld went for a walk at 2:30pm and walked for two hours. What time did she get back? Show the time on your clock?
3. Mrs Rietveld leaves school at 5.00pm and goes to bed four hours later. What time does she (and Mickey) go to bed? Show the time on your clock?
4. Miss Mitchell decided to bake a cake. The cake had to be cooked in the oven for 1 hour and 45 minutes. If Miss Mitchell put the cake in the oven at 7 o clock what time would she take the cake out? Show on your clock.
5. Miss Mitchell decided to get fit! She went for a 3km run. The run took her 15 minutes. If she left home at 6.30 what time did she finish the run. Show on your clock.
6. Miss Mitchell had to give Maggie her dog a bath and then clean the bathroom. It takes her 15 minutes to clean Maggie and 1 hour to clean the bathroom. If she started at 5.15pm (quarter past 5) what time would she be finished cleaning the bathroom and Maggie. Show on your clock.
7. Miss Mitchell is a careful driver. She left her house at 7.15 (quarter past 7) and it took her 25 minutes to drive to school. What time did Miss Mitchell get to school. Show on your clock.
8. Miss Buchanan leaves her house at 7.35pm to go to the gym. She arrives at the gym at 7.45pm and exercises for an hour. She then drives for 10 minutes back home. What time is it when Miss Buchanan arrives back home? Show the time on your clock.
9. Miss Buchanan is cooking roast pork for dinner. At 4.20pm, the pork goes in the oven on the hottest heat for half an hour. Then after that, she lowers the the heat and cooks the pork for an hour an hour and 15 minutes. What time will the roast pork be ready? Show the time on your clock.
10. Miss Buchanan’s pet bird needs its birdcage cleaned once a week. It takes:
7 minutes to clean the bottom of the cage.
3 minutes to change the water
4 minutes to change the food
11 minutes to change the position of the perches
2 minutes to change put the bird seeder collector on the bottom of the cage.
In one year, how long has Miss Buchanan spent cleaning her bird’s cage?

5. Muffins take half an hour to cook. If a batch of muffins goes into the oven at half past five what time will they be ready? Show this time on your clock.
6. The movie started at 6 o’clock and finished one hour and 30 minutes later. What time did the movie finish? Show on your clock?
7. John took his dog to the park. He left home at 9.15pm and was at the park for 30 minutes. What was the time when he got home? Show on your clock.
8. Jim started work at 8.30. He stopped for a break after 2 hours and 17 minutes. He had a 12 minute break then went back to work. What time did he go back to work? Show the time on your clock.
9. Miss Mitchell had 5 jobs to do and 75 minutes to complete all of her jobs. If she started the jobs at 3pm what time would she finish the jobs? Show the time on your clock?
10. Miss Mitchell takes 28 minutes to get to work. She leaves home at 7.15am. When Miss Mitchell gets to school she spends 3 minutes making a cup of tea. 2 minutes checking emails then 8 minutes tidying up. Then she is ready to write on the board what is happening for the day. What time does she do this? Show on your clock.
