Second Grade
Room 8 is a loving community of learners. There is a new set of academic and social skills that are acquired in second grade. No two students are alike when it comes to mastering developmental milestones. There is no pressure to achieve every skill. The bigger goal is to help your son or daughter develop a love of learning. I will use my educational expertise to help each student grow in knowledge and understanding.
I am Carol Reich. I have been an educator for many years. I graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Music Therapy. I completed a degree in Music Education and taught music in School District 125 for 10 years. I specialized in early childhood music and I decided to complete my Master's Degree in Early Childhood. I taught Preschool at St. Linus School for 10 years. I was also an adjunct faculty member at Governor's State University in the Early Childhood Department. I worked as the Office Manager for 11 years at the Cook County City of Chicago Child Development Center located in the George Dunne County Building. This will be my 6th year teaching 2nd Grade at St. Christina.
I have 2 children. My son Dan Zielinski lives in Mount Greenwood with his wife, MaryKate, and 2 girls, Grace, 15 years old, and Ellie, 12 years old. Dan is an English teacher at Stagg High School. My daughter AnneMarie Zielinski graduated from Kendall College with a degree in Hospitality. She is in management in the Restaurant Industry at Tavern on Rush
I live with my 95 year old Father, Bill, and Sister, Barbara in Oak Lawn. I am also the St. Christina Parish Organist/Pianist.
I am very excited to work with your children. This will be an exciting year. Please contact me with any questions or concerns: creich@stchristina.org. I value parent partnerships.
