About me
Hello! My name is Mrs. Mary Czoski.
I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year at Saint Christina School! This is my 8th year at St. Christina but my 17th year teaching early childhood education. I graduated from St. Xavier University, with a bachelor of science in Early Childhood Education with an area of speciation in mathematics. I have been married to my science teacher husband, Edward, for 20 years. We have two boys (James-19 and Alexander-16), many fish, a dog named Lucky.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that respectful, caring bonds with children and their families are the vital foundation for a wonderful early childhood experience for a student. Parents are the child’s most important teachers. I believe that families are the most important aspect for the student because they are their child's first teacher. I believe that children can learn through play, interacting with others, their experiences, and hands-on learning activities. I strive to have upmost respect and love for all the children I teach.
My goal as a teacher is to always take my class on adventures where they are able to investigate new ideas, and form their own thoughts and ideas through hands-on learning experiences. I believe every child is unique and learns at their own pace, but they all deserve an opportunity to learn through their own learning style.
In my classroom we will: make friends, sing, dance, strengthen our fine motor (finger) and gross motor (large body) skills, count, learn letter sounds, learn to follow directions and much more.
All our lessons will be aligned with Illinois state early learning standards and will follow NAYCE (National Association for the Education of Young Children) developmentally appropriate practice.
