The children's day starts with some morning work. This is usually a handwriting or reading activity along with the chance to respond to marked work.
They take part in collective worship.
Every morning the children will always have English and Maths lessons.
The afternoons are usually made up of their foundation subjects where cross-curricular links are made where possible.
French, Music and one PE lesson are taught by specialist teachers.
Majority of homework tasks are set on Google classroom. The children also have a maths and grammar workbook and the allocated pages are set on Google Classroom.
Homework is sent out as follows:
English / Topic homework - marked in class

Reading Records
Collected in every Tuesday and checked by the teacher.
We expect to see 5 entries with 2 comments, written by the children, every week. They have a bank of suggested comment starters in the front of their Reading Record.
The children are sent a copy of their weekly spellings at the beginning of each half term. They can also be found on their Google Classroom.
They will be tested on their weekly spellings every Tuesday morning.
Children are expected to look up the meanings of and be able to use the words correctly in a sentence.
Alongside their weekly spellings, the children are expected to know how to spell words from the Y5/6 spelling lists and apply them to their everyday writing.
