Welcome to Seventh Grade Mathematics!
Grade 7 Mathematics Information Memo 2025-2026
IXL summer math assignments will be checked the week of September 8th.
Supplies Needed:
Scientific calculator
Highlighter/s
Red pen/pencil
Pencil
Categories of learning include:
exponents, integer operations, pre-algebra, proportions in problem solving, percents, consumer math, interpretation of statistics, probability, geometry, more.
Instruction is given in a problem solving context with hands-on activities whenever possible.
This curriculum lays the foundation for higher order mathematical thinking.
Everyone can succeed! and that requires:
attentiveness and full participation in class,
student questions on a daily basis to clarify concepts if/when necessary, and
careful completion of homework assignments given to support
classroom learning, and make-up math assignments missed due to absence.
Workshops, extra help small group sessions, are scheduled at 7:30 a.m. on an
“as needed” basis.
Google Classroom shows homework assignments, project directions, classwork,
mathematical procedures, rules and formula, math workshops
and other helpful communications. Most of this information
will be linked to the calendar on my website.
Grading (recorded in Facts)
There are three categories in descending order of point value:
Tests/Projects
Quizzes/Mini-projects
Classwork/Homework (over)
I am looking forward to a blessed, productive, challenging, successful, and happy year for all students!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions/concerns.

During the first days of school, all students will log onto Google Classroom for mathematics. Google classroom is a vehicle for communication betwewen teachers and students. Descriptions of homework assignments and projects, mathematical procedures and rules, will be shown on google classroom, along with other important communications. Assignments , including tests, quizzes, projects, and homework, along with their due dates, will also be posted on this website, on the calendar below. Grades will be posted on Facts.
Seventh grade mathematics lays the foundation for the learning of higher level math in high school. In following the Common Core Curriculum, major topics explored in a problem solving context are proportions, integers, algebraic expressions, equations and inequalities, percents and consumer math, probability and statistics, scale drawings and geometry. The classroom learning experience is diversified through the use of a Common Core text/workbook, manipulatives, online videos and relevant games, review with Simple Solutions. Math workshops may be offered periodically as needed for clarification of concepts and for extra practice.
