How to Advise MATH @ STCC: Getting students to and through their math requirements

SESSION 4:  2:40 pm-3:30 pm  | F/S  |Room 312

Do you need extra support advising students for their math requirements? An overview of the Math placement assessment, student retention techniques and importance for student success and completion will be discussed. Emphasis will be on STEM transfer programs and importance within the Transfer Opportunities and Initiatives. Practice scenarios and questions will be provided to reflect strategies and protocols within the session.   

Presenter:
Jason Phillips (he/his), is an Academic and Transfer Counselor for STEM@STCC focusing on Engineering and Science Transfer programs. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Science with a concentration in Sports Medicine and Minors in Psychology and Gerontology. Also, he earned a Masters Degree in Counseling. His experience and passion includes student success, retention and program completion, and transferring counseling.
