After having water sprayed on them they will last a few days before decompsoing, so make sure to put them straight into the ground after purchasing.

It will take 1-2 months for it to fully grow put it will continue to sprout new leaves for years if contiuely watered.

How long will it last?

Chives will survive for 2-5 years. Parsley will last around 2 years and Italian Basil with last 0.3-1 years.

What should I do with the packaging?

I suggest that you recycle the box but keep the instructions as they could come in handy.
