Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend.  The weather has been very unsettled this week but that did not stop our annual sports week from going ahead.  The children have had a great week sampling different sporting activities and where required, worked well as part of a team.  I would like to extend a huge thank you to all staff and parents who have supported this week so well but a special thank you to  Mr Reeve and Ms Bell for their excellent organisation and commitment to such a wonderful week.

Sports Day

A huge thank you to all who came for our Sports Day. It was such a shame the weather was so inconsistent but it did not spoil the amazing atmosphere and the incredible efforts by the children! But there can be only one winner...

The results were as follows:

4th Place - Cardinal Hume (Blue Team) with 10,588 points

3rd Place - Cardinal Wolsey (Red Team) with 10,869 points

2nd Place - Cardinal Newman (Green Team) with 11,622 points

1st Place - Cardinal Murphy O'Connor (Yellow Team) 12,131 points

Well done to all the children involved! I would also like to thank the pupils from Nicholas Breakspear for helping us throughout the afternoon, many of whom were past pupils from St Bernadette!

Isle of Wight

Year 6 ended the last half term by returning from their residential trip to the Isle of Wight. I just wanted to publicly recognise the outstanding contribution from the staff that accompanied myself and the Year 6 class to the Isle of Wight. Their care and commitment to each of those children enabled the trip to be a real success.  The final recognition goes to the wonderful children who joined us. From start to finish, the children were outstanding.  Their behaviour, attitude to activities and the support they showed to one another was something only to be admired.  Thank you, Year 6 for a truly fabulous week.

Baby news!

We would like to congratulate Mrs Probert on her pregnancy news.  It is a truly exciting time for Mrs Probert and her family and we wish her all the very best as she navigates the rest of this wonderful pregnancy.

Oliver & Akers

Oliver & Akers have very kindly offered to work with the school to support our fundraising efforts.  They recognise the school as such a huge part of the community and would like to contribute towards supporting us to make the school and the resources even better for the children we serve. We are delighted to work with them on this and very grateful for their generous contributions.

Finally, we wish you all a wonderful weekend

Best wishes

Mrs Lavelle-Murphy & Mrs Alger
