Dear Parents/Carers,

We have reached the end of another successful school term.  The staff and children have worked exceptionally hard and along with the support of you, have made excellent progress in all areas.

Pupil progress meetings

This week we have been holding pupil progress meetings with the class teachers.  These meetings are an opportunity to talk through each individual child in the school and discuss progress, areas for development and of course well-being.  The meetings have been very successful and showcased the outstanding progress the children are making.  Outcomes from these meetings may require further meetings with parents to discuss actions decided upon in the meeting.  If this is the case, the class teacher will contact parents after Easter to discuss this further.

Year 6 booster groups

Please can I publicly congratulate the year 6 pupils on their engagement and attendance at the year 6 booster groups this term.  The children have turned up each morning with a great attitude and used the opportunity to really make a difference to their progress.  Please can I also thank the staff who give up their time to run these sessions, they have made a huge impact and we are very grateful.

FABS Team

A huge thank you to the parents who have been organising the fundraising events this year.  These funds are so crucial to our school and have a direct impact on all of the children in our care.  The most recent Easter egg hunt was a huge success raising over £800!  The children have voiced that they would like some new playground equipment and as a school we would like to diversify our curriculum even further by investing in some new books for the classrooms. Thank you to all of those who supported this event, it was a huge success. I would also like to thank Jon Salinger and the team at London Colney Youth Football Club for their generous donation towards the Easter eggs for the prizes.

100 Books to read before you leave St B Amazon Wishlist

The children are making great progress through our “100 Books To Read Before You Leave St B” Challenge and there is a real buzz around the school! We have been working hard to raise money and buy as many copies of the books as possible, but we are still in need of a lot more to ensure that every child has the opportunity to complete the challenge, and be exposed to as many books as possible. With this in mind, we have set up an Amazon Wishlist for the 100 Books. You can click on this link and select a book (or multiple books) to buy to donate to the school. This will automatically be delivered to the school, and will be available for the children to start reading as soon as it arrives!

We would be really grateful for any donations received, and you can know that your donation can be enjoyed by many children today and in the future! Reading for pleasure not only benefits children academically, but also socially and emotionally. By donating a book, you can help to ensure that all children are able to read a wider range of books.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a wonderful Easter break.  Please use this time to recharge and relax with family and friends.  Life can be so busy, not only as a parent, but in terms of careers, caring for loved ones and simply trying to keep on top of everyone's expectations.  Remember, as I always like to remind myself, that we are doing our best and our best, is more than enough for our wonderful children.  Enjoy the sunshine and chocolate and we look forward to welcoming everyone back after Easter.

Best Wishes
