St Bernadette Catholic Primary School

Message from the

Co-headteachers

Dear Parents and Carers,

A belated Happy New Year from all the Governors, staff, and children at St Bernadette school.  Christmas seems so long ago now but we truly hope you enjoyed your time together and managed to get a bit of rest.

We have hit the ground running since returning to school.  The children have come back with excellent attitudes, ready to take on the new challenges this term will bring.  The senior leadership team has been visiting classrooms regularly to observe the excellent teaching and learning,  and children have already been receiving merits for fantastic progress!

Academy update

The plans to academise are continuing to progress, with the date of conversion planned for 1st April.  We will continue to keep you informed on the progress being made towards this deadline.

Donations of the 100 books to the school

If you are clearing out at home in the coming weeks and stumble across any of the books named on the 100 books to school list, please donate them if you are no longer using them.  The books can be handed into the school office and will be distributed to the appropriate classroom.  Thank you in advance for your support on this. A list of the books needed will be listed below!

Caretaker

We wanted to inform you all that our caretaker is currently on long-term sick leave. We hope she will be able to return soon in good health to join us in this new year as soon as possible. We will keep Ms Sadek in our thoughts and prayers and wish her a speedy recovery.

A Prayer for Persons Suffering from War

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27)

Gracious God, we pray for all persons suffering from war.

May they be held in your loving care and protection

and given the strength to endure great suffering and hardship.

Transform the hearts and minds of all those who perpetuate violence and oppression.

Grant wisdom to world leaders in advancing efforts toward world peace;

may they not be compromised by self-interest and blind indifference.

We ask all this through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes

and in the name of your Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever.

Amen

(Catholic Health Association of the United States)
