Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to thank you yet again for your support.  We never underestimate or take for granted how fortunate we are to have such a good rapport with our parents. You are incredibly loyal, tenacious, and wholly supportive of all that the school endeavors to do on the part of your children! We are constantly looking at ways to make St Bernadette a more engaging, challenging, and inviting place for them to be, and thank you for your co-operation.

Staff

Thank you for the collective effort of ALL of you. It is a pleasure to lead a group of people so genuinely invested in their job and community. People who care so much for not only the academic progress the children make but also their general well-being, confidence, and individuality.  Each member of staff strives to do the best for the children and goes over and above their job description to do this.  This does not only include class teachers but also non–teaching staff, admin staff, teaching assistants, MSAs, catering staff, cleaners, and caretaker. I thank you all for the vital roles you all play in the school’s success. We are truly privileged to work with such committed individuals.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to the small but mighty FABs team who have worked tirelessly this year to raise much-needed funds for the children at St Bernadette. The total this year has reached nearly £8000. We are unbelievably grateful for the time and effort you put into organising such wonderful events for both the children and parents and the outstanding contribution you make to the school community.

The Governors of any school carry a huge weight of responsibility for a volunteer role. We are so proud of the governing body we have leading this school to date and are very excited to work with the new members joining in September. Two of our longstanding governors, Mrs Williams and Ms Turton will sadly leave the governing body this year. We would like to publicly thank them for their unending support and commitment over the years and wish them the very best for the future. Behind the scenes, the governing body works so hard to support the staff and pupils of the school and give up precious time with their own families to support myself & Mrs Reilly in implementing new ideas.  They support staff very well in their emotional well-being and are striving, as we all are, to make our school community even better.

Year 6

Our final farewell is to all Year 6 pupils and some of our long-standing families. You have all accomplished so much in your time here and contributed greatly to what our school is today. We wish you every success in your future endeavors and we hope that you have happy and fulfilling lives ahead of you! Never look back and regret things that you have not done – we urge you to make the most of all opportunities that you are given.

Next year we have already planned many exciting workshops, trips, and extracurricular activities.  Through this, we hope to continue to prepare our children for a world that is not always easy to live in by encouraging them to be more resilient, confident, and forever proud of who they are. Children will be acknowledged for displaying the characteristics that go alongside this approach.

With next year in mind, it will be, as always, an immense privilege to be part of Saint Bernadette School, to work with exceptional staff and with such wonderful, interesting, and talented pupils. We thank you all for an amazing year.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Lavelle-Murphy and Mrs. Reilly
