Dear Parents/Carers,
We have reached the end of a very busy first half term of 2025. It has been a jam packed half term full of exciting activities for the children and lots of new learning!
Cultural Day - Wednesday 5th February
Thank you to all those parents and family members who attended our cultural day last week. The children and staff had great fun preparing for this day, cooking up some wonderful recipes, performing some entertaining dance routines and confidently sharing presentations. It is so important that we encourage the children to learn and have respect for all and what a wonderful way this was to encourage that.
World Book Day- 6th March
We are very much looking forward to celebrating World Book Day again this year. Please see the posters below for key information about the: Read Your Way challenge, Potato competition and VIPERS dress up theme!
Our new RE Newsletter
The Leaders of Hope and Mrs Wright have been working hard to create our first ever RE newsletter, full of lots of key learning and photos of every year group- make sure you click on the link to read the first edition published today!
Finally, Mrs Merrell would like to extend her warmest wishes to all of our parents and carers before she begins her maternity leave today and we wish her and her family the very best of luck as they look forward to welcoming another baby girl. Once the baby has arrived safety, we will share this exciting news with the school community. We would like to wish you all a fun and safe half term and hope that the sun shines. We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 24th February 2025 at 8:40am.
Best wishes,
Mrs. Lavelle-Murphy & Mrs. Merrell

Firstly, a signpost to our Delivering Special Provision Locally (DSPL7) website DSPL7 The DSPL7 website provides information on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities for education settings and families. This includes events for young people, information on health and SEN and parent networking.
Secondly, we annually update and publish our school SEND Information Report. This is accessible via our website. We are looking for a 'working party' of parents in the summer term to offer their views and opinions on some sections of this document. If this is something you think you may be interested in, please email the school and Mrs Alger will be in contact later in the year, in the summer term.
The school football team made it 3 wins on the bounce last week with a 2-1 comeback win vs Colney Heath. They went 1-0 down early on but kept their cool to stay in the game. Some excellent saves from Alex in goal meant that the game was still very much in the balance at halftime.
The energy of the game completely switched in the second half. St Bernadette's got themselves on the front foot and were building momentum. Midway through the second half, a well-taken corner found Luke in the box, who slotted past the keeper to level the score. The team did not stop there...
They kept pushing for the winner, and an excellent solo effort from Lucien 90 seconds before full time handed St Bernadette's the advantage. They stuck together to defend this lead until the final whistle.
This result has taken us to the top of the league with 3 games to play! Well done to everyone who played.
