I have been interested in history ever since I was in middle school. I graduated from Santa Clara Universty in California in 2000 with a BA in History with an emphasis in Social Studies Education and European History. I taught 8th grade history in California for 3 years before I spent the next several years at home taking care of my children, Andrew, Emily, and Irene.
My family moved to Atchison, Kansas in 2012 when my husband, Mark, took a position teaching Biology at Benedictine College. I taught art and was a substitute teacher at ACES and Maur Hill-Mount Academy for a few years and then joined St. Benedict Catholic School faculty to teach part time in the 2017-18 school year and then started teaching full time the following year. Since then, in addition to teaching, I have served in several roles at SBCS, including Marketing Director, Liturgy Coordinator, and Servant Leader adviser. I love being a part of St. Benedict Catholic School and working with all of our amazing families.
