Students will develop early writing and fine-motor skills by learning to properly hold and use scissors, trace first name, letters and shapes,
cut along zig zag lines. Students will also learn to identify letters, their
sounds, and name items that represent each letter.
Story time will focus on Fire Prevention and Community Helpers. We will read stories about fire safety, firefighters, and other emergency helpers. The children will learn what to do in case of a fire and talk about the important people in our community who help keep us safe and healthy.
Sorting and grouping – Students will organize objects into piles by color, shape, or size.
Size recognition – Students will continue to practice numbers and quantity.
Shape: square and rectangle– Students will be able to recognize a square and a rectangle.
Color: red, yellow, blue, green, orange and purple – Students will be able to identify each color
and items that represent each color. Students will be exposed to the written word for each.
Fire safety and all about the fire station - Students will learn how to stay safe and what to do if
there is a fire.
Children will practice taking turns, sharing, preparing pretend meals, and using kind and respectful words with their friends. They will continue developing independence and positive social skills through hands-on play.
Fire Prevention – Students will learn how to stay safe, learn about fire drills, and learn about a
fire firefighters’ job. Students will discuss the protective clothes fire fighters wear, why they
have an important job, and how we can help them.

This week, students will explore apples, pumpkins, and fire safety while developing early literacy, math, writing, fine-motor, science, and social skills. Students will practice making predictions, recognizing letters, numbers, colors, and shapes, sorting objects, and strengthening their cutting and tracing skills. They will also learn about God’s love, fire safety, firefighters, and community helpers while practicing kindness, sharing, taking turns, and independence.
