Earth Day Rhythms!

Can you imagine a world without music?  Explain why music is an absolutely essential part of our world!!

This is what students grades 3-8 were asked.  Here is a selection of their responses:

• I believe music has special powers!!

• We all need to express ourselves and let our feelings out.  So many people do that through music!

• Brings people joy and happiness

• I listen to music when I work because it makes me more productive

• Church uses music to praise God!

• The world would be very dull and boring.

• It is an amazing source of entertianment!

• Music can make us cry or explode with joy.

• It's an escape from our crazy lives right now!

• It inspires people to believe in themselves

• In Italy recently, people would come out of their homes at a certain time and sing.  This is a perfect example of how music can bring others together and raise the spirits of people.

• There is one language that we can all relate to and speak, and that language is music!

• Music is played through our hearts, souls and spirits

• I look at music as someone or something that is always there for me, no matter how I am feeling!

• Music makes our world more colorful

• Music brings people together, helps people heal and brightens up the world when things aren't right.

• How boring would parties be without music?!

• With music we are creative, fun, energtic and happy!
