Hi families!

Summer is here — time for sunshine, adventures, and lots of great books! To keep your child’s reading strong (and to make reading fun), I’d love for you to read together this summer.

Choose one:

• Third Grade Angels by Jerry Spinelli

• Judy Moody and the Not-Bummer Summer by Megan McDonald

What to do:

• Read one of the books with your child.

• Fill out the attached graphic organizer about the story.

• Use the organizer to write a short summary (at least 3–4 sentences). Writing paper is included in the packet.

Make reading fun:

• Try goofy voices or dramatic reading.

• Chat about favorite parts and characters.

• Read outside for a cozy change of scenery.
